The SEL85F14GM is the Sony FE 85mm F1.4 G Master, a professional full-frame portrait prime lens designed for Sony E-mount cameras. It features an 85mm focal length, which is considered ideal for portraits because it gives natural facial perspective without distortion, along with a bright F1.4 aperture that creates excellent background blur (bokeh) and strong low-light performance.
As part of Sony’s premium G Master (GM) series, it delivers very high sharpness, smooth and creamy bokeh, and advanced optical correction using XA and ED glass elements. It also includes fast autofocus driven by a Super Sonic wave Motor (SSM) system and a durable weather-sealed professional build, making it suitable for weddings, fashion, events, and studio photography.
